The death of a Service Member or Veteran by suicide can bring unique challenges to the grieving process. Many survivors experience a complex mix of emotions, unanswered questions, changes in identity and a sense of isolation that others may not fully understand.
This six-week educational program provides practical tools and strategies for navigating grief while connecting with others who share a similar experience. Participants will explore topics such as understanding grief, coping with difficult emotions, managing anniversaries and triggers, strengthening resilience, maintaining connections with loved ones, and finding ways to honor and remember the person who died.
This is not a psychotherapy group. Rather, it is a structured, supportive learning environment that combines grief education, skill-building and peer connection.
Who does this program serve? This program is designed for adult family members and loved ones whose Service Member or Veteran died by suicide and whose loss is connected to military service. To help ensure participants are ready to engage in a skills-based learning environment, the loss must have occurred at least one year prior to the start of the program.
Upcoming course: Wednesdays, September 16-October 21, from 1:30-3 p.m. ET. Click here to complete an interest form.
