Home Base Arizona Makes Community Impact at Events Across the Region
The Home Base Arizona team is grateful for many community involvement opportunities over the last few months. From the National Tribal Health Conference to the Copper Corridor Veteran Resource Fair and the Arizona National Guard Suicide Prevention Community Event & Dodgeball Tournament, our team has been hard at work across the region to share and support our mission. We were also proud to support the 17th Annual Run to Home Base with a FunRun hosted by ASU.
Arizona Joins a Record-Breaking Run to Home Base
Home Base Arizona proudly hosted its first Run to Home Base satellite event as part of the record-breaking 2026 Run to Home Base, which raised more than $4 million in support of Veterans, Service Members, Military Families, and Families of the Fallen.
Thanks to our partnership with Sun Devil Fitness at Arizona State University, Veterans and their families gathered for an indoor Family Fun Run and 5K. Participants were cheered on with every lap, creating a fun and welcoming experience while staying out of the Arizona summer heat.

One of the day’s standout accomplishments came from the high school-aged son of a participating Veteran, who completed the indoor 5K in an impressive 25 minutes and 37 seconds!
The event brought our community together in support of Home Base’s mission to heal the invisible wounds of war, and we are grateful to everyone who helped make Arizona’s inaugural event a success.
Advancing Tribal Health Through Collaboration
Home Base Arizona participated in the 2026 National Tribal Health Conference. The conference brought together Tribal leaders, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and partners from across Indian Country to share best practices, discuss emerging challenges, and advance strategies that support the health and well-being of Tribal communities.

Marcus Denetdale was honored to serve as a panelist during a general session, where we discussed key issues affecting Tribal health and explored opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and improved health outcomes. The session provided a valuable forum for exchanging perspectives and highlighting the importance of culturally informed, community-centered approaches to care.
The conference was an excellent opportunity to learn from colleagues nationwide, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to meaningful conversations that will help shape the future of health in Indian country.
Bringing Resources to the Copper Corridor
Home Base Arizona and the Arizona Youth Partnership (AZYP) were proud to host the 3rd Annual Copper Corridor Veteran Resource Fair with the support of Henry Berry American Legion Post 4 and the Globe community.
The resource fair began through relationships developed with local partners and a shared commitment to reaching rural Veterans. Those partnerships have allowed the event to continue growing while bringing essential information and services directly to Veterans and their families in Globe and surrounding areas.

This year’s fair brought together a wide range of community organizations and VA services. Veterans had opportunities to connect with representatives from the Globe VA Clinic, the VA Regional Benefits Office for assistance with disability claims, Eligibility and Enrollment, Toxic Exposure resources, and other programs designed to support their health and well-being.
We are deeply grateful to every organization, volunteer, and community member who helped make this event possible. The continued growth of the Copper Corridor Veteran Resource Fair demonstrates what can happen when partners work together to ensure Veterans can access meaningful support closer to home.
Teamwork Takes Center Court
Home Base Arizona had a fantastic turnout for the 2nd Annual Arizona National Guard Suicide Prevention Community Resource Event & Dodgeball Tournament. We were proud to field two Home Base teams, with one sponsored by the PENTA CARES Foundation and the other by FCI Constructors. Both teams looked sharp in their matching shirts and brought plenty of energy, teamwork, and laughter to the court.

Our teams advanced through five rounds before being eliminated from the tournament. Along the way, players adjusted their strategies on the fly, showed off some remarkably precise aim, and encouraged one another through every fast-paced match. One early-round highlight came when our last remaining player caught an opponent’s throw and pulled off an unforgettable comeback win!
The smiles and laughter continued throughout the day, and several players were already talking about returning next year. While teams waited for their turn on the court, they could also visit the community resource fair, where Home Base hosted an informational table highlighting our Arizona programs and the support available to Veterans, service members, and military families.
We are grateful to the Arizona National Guard for bringing the community together for an event that paired an important message about suicide prevention with connection, resources, teamwork, and a great deal of fun.
