At Home Base, we believe that when a Family Member serves, the entire Family serves. Building a Strong Home Base is an attachment-based parenting course designed to help Military Families enhance their bonding with their children throughout the challenges of military life. This live, virtual 10-week course, offers information for parents and caregivers of children between the ages of 0-16, and runs in cohorts of different age groups within this range. Parents will be taught skills to better understand and connect with their children. We will learn how to identify and respond to children’s needs, and examine how a parent’s own emotional responses can influence this process. The fundamental principles presented in this course will emphasize attachment-based parenting, emotional regulation and self-care.
Please note, this group is skills-based and educational in nature. This means there won’t be opportunities for specific guidance for each family; however, we will provide you with the tools and knowledge to know when more comprehensive support may be needed.
