Larry Whitmore, MSW

Larry is a USAF Lt Col (Ret.) who currently resides in Bonita Springs, Florida with his wife Patricia and their two sons Noah, and Nicholas. He currently serves as the Veterans Outreach Manager for the Southwest Florida Homebase Team and is the point of contact for Veterans and Their Families seeking care and/or education regarding Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and other combat-related stress.

Larry’s military career spanned 26 years from 1990-2016 with service in the Army, Army National Guard, Air Force and Air National Guard. His primary role was as an Electronic Warfare Officer conducting worldwide reconnaissance missions aboard RC-135U aircraft. Larry last served as the Director of Operations for the 170th Operations Support Squadron at Offutt AFB, Nebraska before retiring.

Since retiring from the service in 2016, Larry has strived to find ways to give back to both veterans and his community. This includes leading trauma sensitive mindfulness meditation groups for veterans, leading the Jail Yoga Program for Missoula County, Montana, and leading mindfulness practices for Missoula County’s Treatment Court programs.

Larry received a Master of Arts in Military Science and Operational Art from the Air Force’s Air University in 2012 and a Master of Social Work from the University of Montana in 2022.
