Daniel H. Daneshvar, MD, PhD
We are pleased to share that Daniel H. Daneshvar, MD, PhD, has been appointed Chair of the Mass General Brigham Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), effective March 30.
In this role, Dan will lead the clinical, educational, research, and community health missions of PM&R across our system. He will be responsible for advancing an integrated, high-performing department that delivers exceptional patient care across the full continuum of rehabilitation services while strengthening our academic and research enterprise.
Dan currently serves as Chief of Brain Injury Rehabilitation at Spaulding Rehabilitation, Chief of Brain Health at Home Base, and Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. A nationally recognized expert in concussion and neurotrauma, he brings a distinguished record as a clinician, physician-scientist, and executive leader.
With extensive experience across inpatient, outpatient, and consultative rehabilitation services, Dan currently oversees one of Spaulding’s largest clinical divisions. He is a proven leader in faculty development and multidisciplinary programming, having successfully integrated rehabilitation as a central strategic partner across Mass General Brigham. He also leads a robust NIH- and DoD-funded research program focused on brain injury, concussion, and neurodegenerative disease.
