As we come together to remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001, we reflect on a day that changed our nation forever. It is a day that evokes deep emotions, as we honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the bravery of first responders, and the resilience of a nation united in the face of unimaginable adversity.

On that fateful day, we witnessed acts of extraordinary courage from the first responders who rushed toward danger, not away from it. Their selflessness and bravery saved countless lives, and their actions continue to inspire us all. These heroes embodied the very essence of what it means to serve others, often at the greatest personal cost. Their sacrifice and dedication remain a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit in the face of overwhelming odds.

Since that day, our service members have shown incredible dedication, resilience, and courage in the face of immense challenges. Whether on the battlefield, in humanitarian missions, or in supporting roles at home, they have upheld the highest standards of honor and duty. Their sacrifices, along with those of their families, remind us daily of the price of our freedom and the enduring spirit of our armed forces.

For many of us at Home Base, this day holds particular significance. It was in the wake of 9/11 that I, along with many of our team members, chose to enlist and serve our country. We answered the call when our nation needed us most, driven by a sense of duty and an unwavering commitment to protect and defend the freedoms we hold dear.

Today, that spirit of service continues to define who we are. Although our uniforms may have changed, our mission remains the same. At Home Base, we continue to “answer the call”—this time by dedicating ourselves to supporting our fellow veterans and military families. We know firsthand the sacrifices that have been made, and we are committed to ensuring that those who have served receive the care, support, and respect they deserve.

As we remember the events of 9/11, let us also reaffirm our dedication to this important work. Together, we honor the memory of those we lost by continuing to serve, support, and uplift one another.
