Home Base Adventure Series: Community Rowing Inc.

Join Home Base and Community Rowing Inc. for a learn-to-row lesson! Rowing is one of the oldest Olympic sports and a low-impact, total-body exercise that is great for all ages. The Community Rowing Inc. boathouse is just upstream of the Head of the Charles Regatta course – the largest regatta in the world and one of the most famous. Every year the Head of the Charles brings around 300,000 rowers, coaches, and spectators to Boston. Get a taste of what the excitement is about in this lesson. We will start on the ergometers to teach proper rowing form, then we will transition to barges, wide and stable boats where you will perfect your rowing stroke on the water. There will also be options for those who are intermediate or advanced rowers, as well as para-rowing. The lesson will be two hours long and there will be multiple groups spaced out through the morning. Please select all times that work for your group, so that we can form appropriate groups by age and skill level.

The event will be on Sunday, June 11th from 8:00 am-12:00 pm at the Harry Parker Boathouse, 20 Nonantum Road, Brighton, MA 02135. Children 11 years of age and older are welcome to attend. The boathouse is fully wheelchair-accessible and we offer a para-rowing option. Parking is free in the lot adjacent to the boathouse. Tickets are limited for this event and Home Base will likely run a lottery. Register by Friday, May 26th, at 5 pm for a chance to attend!
