Adventure Series: Hike at Mount Mansfield with ODO

Join Home Base and Open Doors Outdoors for the fourth hike of our summer season! Located in the Green Mountains, Mount Mansfield rises 4,393 and is the highest mountain in Vermont. This hike features beautiful alpine tundra ecology that has survived from the last Ice Age. This is a challenging hike for the experienced hiker.

Open Doors Outdoors serves Veterans, their families and young people by taking them into the outdoors for reconnection, healthy activity and healing. Through organized activities, participants gain physiological and psychological benefits. Research shows that time spent outdoors can improve mental health such as: stress, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. ODO strives to provide all individuals access to the outdoors, providing an equitable healing experience. One adventure at a time, ODO’s holistic approach heals and restores lives on many levels.

The hike will be on Sunday, July 9th starting at 8 am at the Underhill State Park Parking Lot, 325 Mountain Road, Underhill, VT 05490. Teenagers with hiking experience are welcome to attend. Tickets are limited for this event and Home Base will likely run a lottery. Register by Friday, June 23rd, at 5 pm for a chance to attend!
