Sights and sounds from the seventh annual Helping Veterans Heal televent

On Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 4:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Home Base and WCVB, Boston’s trusted news and community leader, partnered for the seventh consecutive year for the annual Helping Veterans Heal televent.

The televent not only raised critical awareness about our clinical programs, but also over $345,000 in support of our mission to heal the invisible wounds of war for Veterans, Service Members and their Families.

Those who tuned in heard from Military Families whose lives have been transformed by the care and support provided by Home Base and learned more about the invisible wounds affecting our Nation’s Warriors and their loved ones:

Additionally, Jonny Gomes, a 2013 World Series champion with the Boston Red Sox, and Wally and Tessie the Green Monsters helped announce the date of the 17th annual Run to Home Base at Fenway — Saturday, July 25, 2026, pending city approval. • John Hancock – $25,000
  • Jean C. Tempel, Home Base Board of Overseers – $10,000
  • A Grateful Sheep Giving Fund – $10,000
  • Hanscom Federal Credit Union Charitable Foundation – $10,000
  • Sudbury for Wounded Warriors – $10,000
  • National Grid – $8,000

We also thank Dr. O’Neil Britton, Chief Integration Officer and Executive Vice President, Mass General Brigham, for his participation in the televent — interviewing with WCVB’s traffic anchor and transportation specialist, Katie Thompson — and ongoing dedication to our mission.

Lastly, we are grateful to each of our 96 volunteers for taking time out of their busy schedules to answer calls from our community throughout the day.
