Melissa Pelletier, LICSW

Melissa Pelletier earned her Master’s Degree of Social Work from Boston College. Melissa has over two decades of experience working with clients with a wide variety of mental health and adjustment issues.  Melissa started her career as a Medical Social Worker, working in hospital-based settings including outpatient medical and radiation oncology, care coordination for patients with chronic and rare diseases and as an outpatient clinician in private practice.

Prior to joining Home Base, Melissa worked for Lyra Health where she provided evidenced based treatment, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety and depression and Prolonged Exposure for the treatment of PTSD.  Melissa’s clinical approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a focus on client’s values and strengths.  Melissa’s focus in treatment is for clients to learn skills to improve their ability to navigate the challenges and fears they face day to day, and to be able to use those skills for the rest of their life.

Melissa’s interests outside of work led her to Home Base.  Melissa regularly volunteers in her community serving on the board for a local chapter of the Blue Star Mother’s. She provides support and resources to parents and family members of both veterans and active-duty service members, her local veterans services center, and organizations in Central MA that offer support and help to veterans in need.  You will often find her running a 5K for fundraising and stress relief.

Outside of work, Melissa loves to spend time with her family and to travel.  Since the pandemic she has turned her focus to travel within the US, focusing on US History and National Parks.  Closer to home, Melissa enjoys being creative, is always picking up a new hobby and learning something new.

Melissa feels honored and privileged to join the Home Base Outpatient Team as a clinical social worker.
