Matthew Donoghue
Matthew is a Clinical Social Work Intern that will be working in the ComBHaT Program. He is in his final year at Regis College. Before beginning his career in Social Work, Matthew served in the MA Army National Guard from 2009 to 2016 as an Infantryman. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2011-2012 as a Machine Gunner. Following his deployment Matthew became a police officer in Duxbury, later transferring to Braintree. He worked as a police officer for ten years between the two departments. In 2021 Matthew was shot in the line of duty while responding to a domestic violence call. As a result of his injuries, he retired from being a police officer. With a duty to service and a background in crisis intervention he transitioned to a career in social work.
Matthew comes to Home Base as a veteran that is looking to make an impact helping other veterans. He understands the sacrifice our servicemembers and their families make. As well as the importance it is to get them the care they need and deserve. Working with veterans has always been his goal since he began his new career in social work. He is eager to use his education and life experiences to deliver compassionate care that honors the sacrifices made by our servicemembers and their families.
