Margo Mallar
Margo grew up on Air Force bases, attending DoD schools on 3 continents before enlisting in the Army as a Signals Intelligence Analyst 98C. She learned Russian at the Defense Language Institute and continued her studies in Leningrad as part of her undergraduate work at the University of Houston and graduate work at Yale. She has a broad and varied work history that includes cruise directing for a ship based educational travel company, leading an English language immersion program in Krotoszyn, Poland, working in financial services, radio and print journalism, non-profit development and communications as well as the occasional stint in artisanal bakeries. She lived and worked at a meditation center for 3 years and has been part of a mindfulness R&D group, generating play-based activities that increase emotional fluency and interpersonal resilience through popular music and improvisational theater games. She is the proud mother of two daughters, one of whom participated with her in the Home Base Warrior Health and Fitness program and is now a company commander at Ft Bragg. Margo has volunteered with several veteran serving organizations and is currently chipping away at the Bay Circuit Trail, a 230-mile multi-use trail that circles Boston.
