Lindsay Hess
Lindsay graduated from Colgate University in 2026 with a B.A. in Psychology and Studio Art. As an undergraduate, Lindsay sought experiences exploring human vulnerability and resilience. She worked as a research assistant on two long-term studies examining trauma narratives and children’s sleep, stress, and learning. She also interned at The New England Center for Children and MGH Aspire, where she supported Autistic individuals through daily life, giving her hands-on experience with crisis management, emotional regulation, and adapting in high-pressure situations. Lindsay is an artist as well, and her senior thesis in psychology explored how individuals emotionally and cognitively respond to visual art.
Through these experiences, Lindsay has cultivated a passion for developing accessible, holistic forms of mental health care that meet people where they are by providing opportunities for creativity and communication beyond words. After her time at Home Base, Lindsay hopes to become a practicing clinician with a focus in art therapy. When she’s not working, you can find Lindsay knitting, painting, hiking, reading, or (if she’s lucky) swimming on Cape Cod.
