Betsy Hart

Betsy is the wife of a retired Naval aviator and knows first-hand the joys and struggles of military life. In just 20 years, she and her family found their way through eleven moves, six deployments and countless detachments. In addition to her adult life experience, she is the daughter of a Vietnam Veteran and a mental health counselor. Home Base’s mission to heal the invisible wounds of military service is deeply personal to her.

Betsy found Home Base, while living in Boston during her husband Pat’s last active-duty assignment, she served as a volunteer for 18 months before joining the Family Support Team in 2018. In that capacity, she worked closely with military-connected family members as a peer-support mentor and a certified resilience teacher. Upon Pat’s retirement, they moved home to the Florida Panhandle. Betsy now serves as the West Florida Program Manager and oversees Home Base’s clinical care, wellness and recreational programs in the region.

Betsy and her husband live in Pensacola with three resilient children, two poorly-trained dogs and a cat named Stevie Nicks.
