In today’s #HBHealthAtHome Fitness Education video, Home Base SWFL’s Jaime Fernandez guides us through the science behind a proper warm-up and how to execute one to avoid injury and pain.


About the Author: Jaime Fernandez, CSCS Home Base as a Southwest Florida Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  Prior to Home Base, Jaime was based out of Camp Pendleton, CA as Fire Team Leader and Maintenance Non-Commissioned Officer in the United States Marine Corps from 2001-2005, deploying to Iraq three times. While at FGCU, Jaime attained a highly coveted strength and conditioning internship with the Boston Red Sox spring training camp in Fort Myers, FL. Upon graduation Jaime was brought on full-time as a strength and conditioning specialist for the Boston Red Sox minor league system, with the Greenville Drive the “Low A” affiliate of the Red Sox in Greenville, SC. Most recently, Jaime worked as a strength and conditioning specialist at Boras Sports Training Institute in Miami, FL working with professional  athletes across all MLB teams.
