Home Base adds CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training) to its program offerings

CRAFT, or Community Reinforcement and Family Training, is an evidence-based approach for family members who are concerned about their loved one’s substance use. Over eight sessions, family members will learn about substance use disorders and related clinical interventions, and will have the opportunity to practice more effective communication and behavioral strategies aimed at encouraging their loved ones to reduce their use and connect with treatment. The group also emphasizes the importance of self-care and getting support from others.

  • Leaders: Ann Stewart, Kat Dunford
  • Duration: 8 weeks, 1 50-min session per week
  • Schedule: Wednesdays, 3pm – 4 pm
  • Format: virtual (zoom)
  • Group: 8 – 12 Family members
  • Enrollment: Referred by Home Base provider; can join at Week One

To enroll, family members will need to either call the front desk (617-724-5202) or send us a message through Connect with Care. They will speak with a social worker (no specific social worker needed) and get scheduled for an initial evaluation before being referred to the group.
