A Celebration of Service and Support: The 12th Annual Salute to SWFL Veterans
On April 1st, the beautiful Kensington Golf & Country Club hosted the 12th Annual Salute to SWFL Veterans. The event was a resounding success, with 150 golfers participating, including 30 past participants from Home Base Florida. These brave men and women shared their stories and built new bonds of friendship, making the event even more meaningful for everyone involved.
Home Base Florida is pleased to announce the 12th Annual Salute to SWFL Veterans was our most successful year yet! Through the combined efforts of generous sponsors, participants, and donors, raising a grand total of $210,000. These funds will be instrumental in supporting Home Base Florida’s mission to provide Veterans and Military Families with the care they need to heal the invisible wounds of war.
Kensington Golf & Country Club has inspired five other country clubs in Southwest Florida to establish their own tournaments and has been vital in helping Home Base Florida expand its noble work across the state. With this year’s milestone fundraising, the Kensington Community has raised over $1.5 million since 2012, earning them the inaugural Fredrick M. Franks Award.
Congratulations to our tournament winners, Walt Rausch, Brian Allen, Greg Wetzel, George Burns, and Jason Cooper, who showed remarkable skill and sportsmanship throughout the day. Your victory was well-deserved, and we thank you for your participation and support.
