2nd Annual Quail Creek Tournament raises $100,000 for Home Base Florida

On Sunday, March 9th, the generous community at Quail Creek Golf Club in Naples, Florida hosted their 2nd Annual Quail Creek Salute to SWFL Veterans, benefiting Home Base Florida. This year’s event raised more than $100,000 in support of Veterans and Military Families through registration fees, sponsorships, a silent and live auction and donations.

The event began with an opening ceremony on loggia of Quail Creek’s Fitness Center.  Golden Gate High School JROTC presented the colors and Quail Creek resident Joan Bilson, sang a beautiful rendition of national anthem before the 1pm shotgun start.  144 golfers in total, eleven of which are Home Base Veterans, hit the links for a shotgun scramble-format tournament.  The event concluded with a dinner and reception in Quail Creek’s Cypress Room.  More than 250 guests enjoyed a wonderfully prepared dinner, heard of the impact the Home Base Program made on Navy Veteran Tony Laucevicius. Guests also had the opportunity to bid on many silent auction items and live auction items, including treating a Veteran to life-saving clinical care.

The Quail Creek Committee is led by Home Base Florida Senior Advisor and Quail Creek resident, Brigadier General (ret.) Ed Dyer.  “Each year this event has gained support, momentum and participation. This was a record year, raising more than $100,000 to support Veterans and their Families and I’m looking forward to what the future has in store.”

Home Base Florida is honored to have such dedicated, generous, patriotic supporters like the Quail Creek community.
