Veteran Outreach Spring Highlights: Making Connections Nationwide
As the weather warms up, our Veteran Outreach Team is springing into action—connecting with communities across the country and bringing our mission to life through events, partnerships, and innovative experiences.
One of our proudest moments this season was supporting our first Mobile Intensive Clinical Program (ICP) on the San Carlos Apache Reservation in southeastern Arizona. There, one of our Veteran Outreach Coordinators joined the Clinical team in delivering world-class care to Native Veterans from four different tribes. As always, our coordinators provided critical peer support and served as liaisons between Veterans and clinicians, ensuring holistic, culturally respectful care.
Meanwhile, just a few hours north, our team returned for a second year to the Gathering of Nations, North America’s largest intertribal powwow. Surrounded by thousands of spectators and over 300 singers and dancers, we were honored to engage with the Native community, share information about our services, and celebrate the strength and resilience of Native Veterans.
Our outreach also expanded through exciting collaborations. This spring, we joined forces with the Home Base development team at Mimecast’s Annual Kickoff event in Dallas, Texas. Representatives from eight countries participated in Mimecast’s innovative badge scan game, raising an incredible $20,000 in support of our mission. One of our Veteran Outreach Coordinators—who also serves as a Resiliency Instructor—kicked off each day with mini-courses on the stress and relaxation response, setting a strong tone for the event.

We’re always looking for new ways to connect with Veterans, and our first Glassblowing Adventure Series in Rhode Island with Blackstone River Glassblowing offered a unique, hands-on opportunity for creativity and camaraderie.

Looking ahead, our outreach calendar is packed with meaningful engagements—from national conferences like SOF Week in Tampa, SOMA in Raleigh, and the DAV Conference in Las Vegas, to Police Chiefs’ Association meetings and multiple community events across Massachusetts. We’re especially excited for our annual Memorial Day Flag Garden at Boston Common and for continued outreach at regional powwows to connect with Native Veterans throughout New England.
As always, we thank you for your continued support and commitment to our mission. We look forward to a busy and fulfilling season of service and connection!
