Veronica McIntyre
Veronica graduated from Colby College in 2024 with a B.A. in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience. As an undergraduate, Veronica worked as a research assistant in Colby’s Behavioral Neuroscience Lab where she studied the relationship between brain and behavior in rodents. Additionally, Veronica conducted two research projects on human memory. Outside the classroom, Veronica was a direct care volunteer for Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area, visiting terminally ill community members to offer support. She also served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of Colby’s student-run newspaper, The Colby Echo. These experiences have deepened Veronica’s interest in trauma, substance use, and how factors such as social support and community can moderate the negative effects of traumatic experiences. After her time at Home Base, Veronica plans to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology.
