Truc grew up in Boston, MA graduating from Charlestown High School in 2007. She enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 2009 as an Airborne Cryptologic Linguist. She studied Farsi and Dari at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA. She deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 where she flew over 150 combat sorties on the MC12 as a Tactical Systems Operator. She separated from active duty in 2013 to move back to Boston to pursue her education. She received her B.A. in Criminal Justice from UMass Boston in 2015. She is currently in the Air National Guard as an Intelligence Analyst.
