Linsey Mathew
Linsey is a postdoctoral fellow in both the ICP and Outpatient programs at Home Base. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Suffolk University, where she trained at a variety of settings, including an outpatient OCD clinic, primary care unit, and community mental health clinic. During her time at the primary care unit, she noticed high rates of untreated traumatic stress among patients who were unable to access long-term treatment and wanted to learn more about how to make evidence-based interventions for PTSD more accessible. This prompted her to seek additional training at the National Center for PTSD at VA Boston, and she even completed a practicum training here in the Outpatient program at Home Base from 2023-2024. She recently completed her predoctoral internship in Primary Care Behavioral Health at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans’ Hospital, where she received extensive training in short-term, evidenced-based individual and group psychotherapy for Veteran’s struggling with a variety of mental health conditions (e.g. PTSD, anxiety, depression, substance use) and co-occurring medical conditions (e.g. chronic pain, tinnitus, cancer).
She has received training in Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP), and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i). She is excited to be back at Home Base, and looks forward to learning additional interventions, including Prolonged Exposure, as well as running various groups in the ICP program.
Originally from Pleasantville, NY, she holds a B.A. in Psychology from the George Washington University, as well as an M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Suffolk University. In her free time, she likes to try new restaurants, travel, and spend time with her dog Rosie.
