Hayden DeGeorge, MSW, LCSW

Hayden is a Social Work Clinician with the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Comprehensive Brain Health & Trauma (ComBHaT) Program at Home Base. He earned his Master of Social Work degree from the Boston College School of Social Work and a B.A. in Counseling and Health Psychology, with minors in Philosophy and Sociology, from Emmanuel College in Boston, MA. Prior to joining Home Base, Hayden completed his clinical training at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he supported students through a range of interpersonal, academic, and well-being challenges as part of MIT’s CARE Team and Student Support Services. He also trained at Boston Medical Center–Brighton (formerly St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center) in the Comprehensive Addiction Program (SECAP), providing intensive inpatient counseling for individuals undergoing acute alcohol and opioid withdrawal. In addition, he facilitated groups in SECAP’s intensive outpatient program and developed an evidence-based curriculum on nutrition, exercise, and brain health in recovery.

Hayden integrates his passion for neuroscience, mindfulness, and healthy living into his work with patients and families. His clinical interests include trauma recovery, substance use, the gut– brain connection, and performance psychology. Outside of his professional role, he enjoys spending time with his dog, strength and endurance training, and surfing along the East Coast—especially during the winter months. Service has long been a part of his family’s story: his late grandfather served in the U.S. Army and served as a firefighter in the Bronx, New York City for 25 years. Hayden continued in this tradition through his own service in the U.S. Army before pursuing a career in social work. Hayden believes that lasting healing happens where science and human connection meet, and that with the right support, every person has the strength and inner wisdom to heal and thrive after hardship.

Hayden is honored to be part of the Home Base team, walking alongside Veterans, Service Members, and their families as they continue to show extraordinary strength and resilience in service to our country.
