Edward Blum
Edward Blum earned his Masters of Social Work from Simmons University, and he has been a part of the Home Base team since 2022. Edward works primarily within the Intensive Clinical Program (ICP), where he provides individual therapy (including Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Grief Therapy, and the Unified Protocol for Emotional Disorders) and group therapy (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, In Vivo Exposure) to Home Base patients, as well as leading educational groups for family members. Before working at Home Base, Edward’s graduate internship saw him providing therapeutic mentorship and counseling to adults and students at Fathers’ Uplift, a community-focused mental health organization in Dorchester dedicated to providing practical and emotional support to parents dealing with the challenges of parenting and reconnecting with their families. Prior to his clinical training, he worked as an artist and educator, creating theater that engaged with issues of social injustice, and coaching high school students in the use of mindfulness-based therapeutic skills. Edward hopes that his eclectic background gives him a unique and empathetic perspective that will serve his patients well as they navigate the challenges that have brought them to Home Base.
