Armand Hunter

Armand Hunter has been in the Massachusetts National Guard for over 21 years. He served in a number of enlisted and warrant officer roles in the Field Artillery during this time: cannon crewmember, ammo team chief, forward observer, fire support platoon sergeant, Target Acquisition Platoon Leader, counterfire officer, officer in charge for military funeral honors details, and his current assignment as a targeting officer. His service also includes two combat deployments to Iraq (2004-2005 & 2006-2007), one combat deployment to Afghanistan (2010), and most recently a deployment to the Horn of Africa in 2021. Armand is recipient of a number of military awards and decorations, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, two Meritorious Unit Citations, the Combat Action Badge, and the Schützenschnur in Silber. Additionally, he was inducted into the US Field Artillery Association’s Honorable Order of Saint Barbara in 2016.

Armand has been with Home Base since 2016, working as a Veteran Outreach Coordinator, Team Leader, and Associate Director. Armand was first drawn to Home Base by the opportunity to help his brothers and sisters in uniform. He genuinely looks forward to working with the rest of the Home Base team every day, doing his part in helping our Nation’s Veterans and their families heal. Prior to working for Home Base, Armand worked as a Human Resources military technician for the federal government.

In his spare time, Armand enjoys fishing, cooking, baking, coaching his young son’s sports teams, playing terrible rounds of golf, and learning new things.

Armand graduated cum laude from Westfield State University in 2012.
