Nest Golf Club Raises $400,000 at 10th Anniversary Home Base Golf Tournament

Nest Golf Club’s 10th Annual Home Base Golf Tournament held in honor of Veteran’s Day at Pelican’s Nest Golf Club in Bonita Springs, Florida surpassed its goal and raised $400,000 for Florida Veterans, Military Families and Families of the Fallen.

The sold out event kicked off with an action-packed Opening Ceremony with all the patriotic fanfare a Veteran’s appreciate event deserves including a performance of the national anthem by Reina Ozbay, an international child singer and actress, color guard, and a bag piper, a visit from Uncle Sam and, for the first time, a Lee County Sherriff’s Office helicopter fly over and ball drop fundraiser.

The 18-hole, shotgun start tournament included a putting and hole in one contest. Immediately following the tournament, there was a sold-out awards dinner with 320 guests that included a 50/50 raffle, live and silent auction and a testimonial from U.S. Airforce Veteran Tyler King, a local Veteran who benefited from Home Base Florida’s services.

Over the last 10 years, this fundraising tournament has raised over $2.4 million to support local Veterans and Military Families affected by PTSD, depression, traumatic brain injury and military service-related trauma.
