Home Base

Home Base SWFL is Now Home Base Florida

Florida is home to more than 1.5 million Veterans. Our goal is to ensure that any Veteran affected by the invisible wounds of war has access to the life-saving care that Home Base provides.

Hundreds of Florida Veterans have been flown to Home Base in Boston for our 2-week Intensive Clinical Program. All too often, however, we have faced significant challenges in connecting them with evidence-based care providers when they return home to Florida. With that in mind, Home Base began a first-in-the nation program which partners with best-in-class regional partners to build this life-saving clinical capability within local communities – at NO COST to our Veterans. The cornerstone for these efforts have begun in Southwest Florida where our friends and partners have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to our wounded and injured Veterans since 2014.

Home Base succeeds in caring for Veterans through an incredible array of community-based efforts and partnerships, which has enabled us to successfully develop a range of solutions for the 5-County region of Southwest Florida. Our wellness programs remain anchored with our good friends at Florida Gulf Coast University, and our first clinical partnership was developed with the Lee Memorial Health System. You will learn more this month on the expansion of clinical care options now available at the David Lawrence Centers, and our growing partnership with Tampa General Hospital.

Our name change to Home Base Florida reflects our efforts to build upon the tremendous work in Southwest Florida, and simultaneously expand our efforts to partner with communities across the State in order to build local clinical care capabilities for the wounded and injured Veterans and Families from these regions.
