Adventure Series: Hike Mt. Monadnock with Open Doors Outdoors!

Open Doors Outdoors is very excited to share an amazing hike to the summit of Mt. Monadnock in Jaffrey, NH on Tuesday, August 9 at 8:00am ET. Mt. Monadnock has long been cited as one of the most frequently climbed mountains in the world, per Wikipedia.

We will be meeting at Old Toll Road/Halfway House Trail Head, Half Way House Road, Jaffrey, NH 03452. Parking will be covered by Open Doors Outdoors. RSVP here.

This trail is considered challenging. There will be some areas where scrambling — use of hands and feet to move along the trail — is necessary. Click here to see more trail information.

Sturdy sneakers or hiking shoes are a must, NO open-toed shoes. Please eat a good meal and hydrate prior to the hike. Bring a minimum of 32 ounces of water and 500 calories in snacks. The first half of the trail is a gravel road and the second half is a beautiful rocky ascent to the summit. You should have a day pack, any required medication, wind breaker, small first aid kit, sunscreen, bug repellent, towel, flip flops (or comfy shoes) and change of clothes. Dress comfortably with quick dry clothing. Please avoid cotton as best you can.
