Founded and championed by MBTA Transit Police/Boston Gang Unit Detective Kurt Power, U.S. Army Veteran, Purple Heart recipient and proud graduate of Home Base, the 8^th Annual Home Base No Shave campaign raises awareness and funds for the critical, life-saving care that Home Base provides to Veterans and their Families to heal from the invisible wounds, such as post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury.

Pledge $100 to forgo shaving or wear a No Shave lapel pin in order to evoke conversation, raise awareness and break the stigma associated with post-traumatic stress (PTS) and other invisible wounds of war. All police, firefighters, corrections officers, EMTs, dispatchers and paramedics are encouraged to participate. We also welcome any community supporters, individuals or companies to join our efforts, as this is a great way to encourage and motivate employees, friends and family to make an impact, together.

To date, this campaign has raised over $1.2 MILLION to fund critical mental health and brain injury care – all at no cost for our nation’s wounded & injured Service Members and their Families. Equally important is the message each of you relay to your communities by participating in this impactful campaign. First – that their service and sacrifice mattered, and second – we need to connect them to care! The outpouring of community support – individuals, companies and employees – for this campaign was remarkable.
