Arizona Adventure Series Kicks Off with a Striking Success
Home Base Arizona launched its Adventure Series in July with a Family Bowling Night, and it was an incredible evening of laughter, connection, and community! 51 participants showed up ready to roll, making our first event a truly memorable one. Outreach Coordinator Dana West organized her first Adventure Series event since joining the team, It set a powerful tone for the work ahead.
The night wasn’t just about bowling; it was about building relationships. For several attendees, it was their first time participating in a Veteran-centered community event. Many shared how meaningful it was to be in a space where they felt welcomed, supported, and celebrated. Parents cheered alongside kids, strangers became teammates, and laughter echoed across the lanes.

“I definitely needed the laughs and enjoyed connecting with other Veteran sistas and brothas,” said Cassandra Johnson, one of the attendees. “There is a lot of support, resources, and just good people genuinely wanting you to know YOU ARE NOT ALONE.”
To keep things fun, every participant who bowled a strike received a Home Base Arizona t-shirt, and the top scorer of the night walked away with a special golf-themed prize pack to help them stay active and engaged beyond the lanes.
The event reminded us that sometimes the simplest moments, like sharing a game of bowling, can have the deepest impact. We’re excited to keep the momentum going with even more Adventure Series events on the horizon.
