Donations to Home Base Fuel Hope for Military Veterans and Families
Thanks to you, more than 11,000 Post-9/11 Veterans, Service Members and their Families have been provided care and support from Home Base since inception. On behalf of them, we’d like to say thank you for transforming lives.
With the opening of our two-week Intensive Clinical Program (ICP) in 2016, Home Base moved from a regional center of care to a national center of excellence for treating the invisible wounds of war, providing clinical care to Veterans from 31 states.
Laura Hartman was one of the first Veterans to enroll in Home Base’s ICP, after participating in Home Base’s Warrior Health & Fitness Program in Southwest Florida. “I moved to Florida to start over and live an active outdoors life. When I came across Home Base, it was an organization that kept Veterans active and engaged them with people who were on the same journey – that’s what I enjoyed,” Laura recalls. “I decided to trust this process and took a leap of faith by going to Boston to participate in the pilot program of the ICP – something was going to change and I was going to live differently.
During the two-week program, Laura received close to a year’s worth of therapy combined with complimentary alternative medicine, fitness & nutrition counseling, substance use treatment and a great deal of skill-building education. “To know that I was willing to die for my country and now I’m willing to live is amazing. As a Veterans advocate, I am very humbled to be part of something bigger again.”
