FY22 DE&I and Anti-Racism Strategic Plan
I. Improve and enhance recruitment, hiring, retention and promotion practices to reach applicants, employees and volunteers with historically underrepresented identities.
Outcome: Increased diversity among Home Base’s employees, Leadership, volunteers and students, throughout all departments, which supports an inclusive environment.
II. Expand and enhance our outreach to diverse, underserved and underrepresented patient populations.
Outcome: Increased diversity of Home Base’s patient populations.
III. Expand training for clinical and support staff to include focus on cultural competency and cultural humility.
Outcome: Continuation and advancement of a welcoming, inclusive, equitable and culturally competent and culturally humble culture for all patients served, including patients with historically marginalized identities.
IV. Institutionalize and codify commitment to DE&I work moving forward. Expand staff participation, education and communication in Mass General Brigham/Massachusetts General Hospital, state or national DE&I initiatives.
Outcome: Formalized institutional commitment to DE&I and anti-racism as reflected in job descriptions, professional development, ongoing trainings and partnerships.
V. Enhance collaborative work environment and informed decision making at entry level of the organization.
Outcome: Staff and Leadership feel a greater sense of connection and ownership in the mission and achievements with a shared understanding of and contribution to the decision-making processes.
