William Tinney, PsyD

Dr. William Tinney is a postdoctoral clinical fellow, who joined Home Base in September 2023, providing care in the ICP and outpatient clinic. Prior to joining Home Base, Will completed an APA internship in Health Service Psychology at the Sheridan VA Healthcare System in Sheridan, Wyoming, working with a patient population of rural and Native veterans across a variety of settings such as inpatient, residential, outpatient, and a pain clinic. Before his APA internship, he completed doctoral training in a community mental health center, a college counseling center, and a public school system. He also worked as a co-response clinician completing risk assessments while embedded in a local police department. He received his PsyD in Clinical Psychology from William James College in Newton, Massachusetts in August 2022 and completed undergraduate degrees at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont, where he double majored in psychology and criminal justice. Dr. Tinney served in the United States Army Reserve for eight years. His research interests include military to civilian transition/adjustment as it relates to identity and meaning and increasing resilience among reserve component service members/first responders.
