Allison Rivera

Staff Sergeant Allison Rivera has been serving in the United States Army Reserve since 2012 as a biomedical equipment technician. She was deployed in 2014-2015 to Qatar and Afghanistan, and she just returned in April from a deployment to Kuwait as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Medical Maintenance. Staff Sergeant Allison Rivera has received multiple awards so far in her career such as the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal. She also served as the Equal Opportunity Leader for her unit while deployed from 2022-2023.

Allison was promoted out of her Medical Maintenance unit and into a Military Intelligence unit at Fort Devens, MA, and, in kind, looked for new opportunities outside of the civilian medical maintenance field. She came to Home Base as an internal transfer from MGH’s Biomedical Engineering department. She enjoys being able to blend her military experience with her passion to help others in her community. She has participated in the Run to Home Base and explored the Warrior Health and Fitness program, and looks forward to further engaging with all that Home Base has to offer.

Allison is a Massachusetts native, but holds a Master’s Degree in Forensic Medicine from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Forensics from Mercyhurst University.
