Home Base Florida Celebrates Unprecedented Success at The Nest’s 8th Annual Home Base Golf Tournament
Home Base Florida is elated to announce the triumphant outcome of the 8th Annual Home Base Golf Tournament, hosted by The Nest Club. The community rallied together, resulting in an astonishing sell-out of tournament spots within mere hours. This year’s event not only showcased the community’s commitment to a worthy cause but also raised more than $345,000 in support of Home Base Florida’s initiatives. Home Base Florida will put these valuable resources to good use by providing local Veterans and Their Families timely access to high quality, evidence-based care.
The day unfolded with a perfect blend of sporting excellence and community spirit, featuring a wide array of activities such as golf, ballroom dancing, a silent auction, raffles, and ended with a delightful dinner. The morning commenced with a beautiful rendition of “God Bless America” and the National Anthem performed by the talented Reina Ozbay. Followed by Honorary Director of Home Base Florida, General Fred Franks, who addressed the crowd. He shone light on the reason everyone was there and emphasized the importance of “fulfilling the implied trust”.
The tournament owes its success to the devoted efforts of the committee, with special acknowledgment to co-chairs Basil Bennett and Charlie Young. Their leadership and commitment played a pivotal role in ensuring the event’s success. Their continued dedication exemplifies the true spirit of community and philanthropy. Finally, our gratitude extends to the entire Nest staff under the leadership of David Gillespie.
As Home Base Florida celebrates this record-breaking achievement, the organization looks forward to building on this success in future endeavors, continuing to make a positive impact on the lives of Veterans and Their Families.
