Meghan Shanahan

Meghan Shanahan is a psychiatric nurse practitioner at Home Base. She holds board certifications as a Family Psychiatric Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse Advanced Practice (CARN-AP). A lifelong Massachusetts resident, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University in psychology and history. Prior to studying nursing, she worked in psychiatric clinical research at McLean Hospital and at the MGH Schizophrenia Research Program. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing degree at Boston College. Meghan worked at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where she was appointed a Lecturer in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. For the five years prior to joining Home Base, Meghan worked in the Boston and Bedford VA systems treating Veterans in outpatient and residential mental health settings. In addition to providing psychopharmacology, she is trained in Motivational Interviewing and CBT for Substance Use Disorders. She looks forward to continuing to work with Veterans at Home Base.
