Katherine serves veterans and their families at Home Base as a Jesuit Volunteer/AmeriCorps member, helping with the Adventure Series and other outreach events. She graduated from the University of Chicago in 2021 with degrees in Classics and Art History, then completed the University of Virginia’s post-bac pre-med program in 2022. Outside of the classroom, Katherine volunteered in a transitional care hospital, researched the effects of air pollution on neurocognitive development, and worked in campus EMS. Her father served in the Canadian army and her grandfather served in Burma and Korea with the British Army. Katherine plans to apply to medical school after her time at Home Base.
