Jared Wilson
Jared enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in September of 2003. Upon completion of his initial training he was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. In 2004, he deployed with Small Craft Company as a Motor Transportation Operator in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following his deployment Jared spent time as an instructor training Marines and Sailors tactics for small boat operations, small boat repairs, and trailering. He was then assigned to Combat Logistics Regiment 25, where he assisted in the operations of the training and development for 3 Battalions. He volunteered to detach the unit in order to forward deploy to Afghanistan in 2010 with First Battalion Tenth Marines Artillery.
While deployed to Afghanistan Jared was assigned the Local Security Chief role as well as being the Platoon Sergeant for Security Platoon. While forward deployed Jared reenlisted and was assigned as an Enlisted Production Recruiter in Ocean Springs, MS. Jared was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in February 2016 and enrolled in Campbell University. He successfully earned his BS in Homeland Security from Campbell University in December 2017. Immediately following receipt of his degree Jared became a federal employee working at North Carolina State University, supporting the Naval ROTC program. Jared is excited at the opportunity to continue his service and supporting veterans and their families as a Veterans Outreach Coordinator.
