Since Home Base was established in 2009, our mission has been to support service members and their families affected by Invisible Wounds.  Central to our mission is a value of inclusivity.  Our doors are open to all service members, veterans and their families irrespective of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, parental status, age, disability, genetic information (including family medical history), political affiliation, military discharge status or ability to pay. While this has helped open pathways of care to many that we have been privileged to support, we recognize that more needs to be done to promote equitable access to mental health care for all veterans and service members.

2020 was a profoundly challenging year for all, but the turmoil also highlighted with great clarity the health inequities that disproportionately affect Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) communities, and women, who serve in our military. While these challenges are complex and are not easily solved, Home Base is committed to elevating diversity, equity and inclusion practices to the center of our work, and recognizing and working collaboratively to address these disparities.   Please know that whether you are seeking care, education, or employment at Home Base, we strive to create an environment in which you are seen, heard, and treated with dignity and respect.
