Run to Home Base
The Run to Home Base is one of Home Base’s signature fundraising events with a national presence. Every year, thousands of runners and walkers lace up their running shoes for one cause – to raise critical funds for Home Base. Introduced to Boston in 2009, the Run to Home Base presented by New Balance at Fenway has raised more than $15 million to support Home Base. In 2017, Home Base announced the first-ever Run to Home Base Florida presented by Florida Community Bank. The 2017 Run to Home Base Florida will help support Home Base’s initiatives in Southwest Florida and help fund Veterans from Florida going through Home Base’s Intensive Clinical Program, headquartered in Boston, MA. If you have any questions about this race, please contact Steve Monaco at email@example.com.

JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, FL
Run 10K or 5K; Walk 1 mile
The Run to Home Base presented by Florida Community Bank is a unique fundraising charity run though the scenic tropical areas surrounding JetBlue Park, ending with the unforgettable experience of crossing home plate at JetBlue Park – just days ahead of Spring Training. Friends and family are invited to cheer on participants from the stands at Fenway South, and food an entertainment will be available throughout the venue on race day. The Run will honor our nation’s heroic Veterans and help raise funds for Home Base’s initiatives in Southwest Florida.
Veterans in Southwest Florida have two options: a wellness program in their backyard or a two-week, Intensive Clinical Program (ICP). Drawn on the resources of the College of Health Professions and Social Work at Florida Gulf Coast University and the Greater Naples YMCA, Home Base’s Warrior Health & Fitness Program in SWFL focuses on exercise, wellness and camaraderie. In addition to supervised exercise, participating veterans receive education about healthy eating and living, sleep hygiene, stress management, and the health benefits of physical activity. For those dealing with symptoms of post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, substance use disorders, depression, anxiety and other issues related to their service, Veterans can directly connect to care through Home Base’s innovative two-week ICP headquartered in Boston, MA. What would normally take up to a year for a traditional course of treatment has been condensed into two weeks. All services associated with the ICP – food, lodging, transportation and clinical care – are provided at no cost to the Veteran.
