Run to Home Base – Florida
The Run to Home Base presented by Florida Community Bank is a unique fundraising charity run though the scenic tropical areas surrounding JetBlue Park, ending with the unforgettable experience of crossing home plate at JetBlue Park – just days ahead of Spring Training. The Run honors our nation’s heroic Veterans and helps raise funds for Home Base’s initiatives in Southwest Florida.
Now entering its 7th year, this annual event is held at Kensington Golf and Country Club, a premier 18-hole championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. in the heart of Naples, FL. The event benefits Southwest Florida Veterans, Service Members, and their Families by raising awareness and funds for those in Southwest Florida communities struggling with the invisible wounds. The Annual Home Base Golf Outing, hosted and sponsored by Red White & Blue Alliance members and co-founders of LABUR, Darrin Lang and Seth Burr, takes place each spring at the Pocasset Golf Club. The event attracts foursomes from across Massachusetts to benefit Veterans and Military Families in our community.
Run to Home Base presented by New Balance – Boston
The Run to Home Base presented by New Balance is a yearly charity race that honors our nation’s heroic Veterans and helps raise much needed funds for Home Base. Proceeds from the event will fund the clinical care provided to Veterans and their Families. The Run is a unique 9K run or 5K run/walk through scenic Boston ending with the unforgettable experience of finishing the race by crossing home plate at historic Fenway. Mission: Gratitude is the largest concert event in New England to benefit our Veterans, Service Members and their Families. Held the Monday before Veterans Day, the concert-style benefit evening is an opportunity for those in the Boston business, civic and philanthropic leadership communities to hear from our Military Heroes and enjoy entertainment by a legendary performer. Veterans Day Special
Home Base’s annual Veterans Day Special is a commercial free television event highlighting the the multifaceted aspects of Home Base. The broadcast aims to educate the community at large about the invisible wounds of war, and focuses on patients who bravely share their story in hopes of reducing stigma. The 2015 and 2016 Veterans Day Specials were both nominated for an Emmy Award.
First Responder No-Shave November
Each November, MBTA Transit Officer, Purple Heart recipient, and former Home Base patient Kurt Power leads a month-long journey to support Home Base and honor his fallen brothers through the annual No-Shave November campaign. Participants make a pledge to forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversation, raise awareness and break the stigma associated with post-traumatic stress (PTS) and other invisible wounds of war. All police, firefighters, corrections officers, EMTs, and paramedics are encouraged to participate.
TCS New York City Marathon
We are fortunate to be able to offer bibs each year for the TCS New York City Marathon. If you are interested in running on behalf of Home Base, please visit www.homebase.org/nycmarathon. If accepted as a Home Base runner, you must agree to a$4,000 fundraising commitment. Please note that runners must be at least 18 years of age.
