First Responder No-Shave
Each November, MBTA Transit Officer, Purple Heart recipient, and former Home Base patient Kurt Power leads a month-long journey to support Home Base and honor his fallen brothers through the annual First Responder No-Shave campaign. Participants make a pledge to forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversation, raise awareness and break the stigma associated with post-traumatic stress (PTS) and other invisible wounds of war. All police, firefighters, corrections officers, EMTs, and paramedics are encouraged to participate. Click here to learn more.
