Tee off in support of their military community during the 5thAnnual Home Base Golf Outing at the Pocasset Golf Club on Monday, May 21. Organized by Darrin Lang and Seth Burr of LABUR, LLC in Boston, the event raises funds to support the clinical care and support services provided by Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program. To date, the event has raised more than $50,000 for Home Base. Golfers are invited to attend the Home Base reception and dinner immediately following the tournament, joined by Veterans and Home Base Leadership. The 1st Annual Warped Pours is a Homebrew Festival and Competition at the KOA Campground, featuring multiple Homebrew clubs, pouring 2 oz. samples of beer for guests. There will be a raffle and prizes throughout the day. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Law Enforcement Officer Support Foundation and Home Base. 7th Annual 1st Lt. Derek Hines Flag Day 5K

Registration is now open for the 7th Annual 1st Lt. Derek Hines Flag Day 5K, held by the 1st LT Derek Hines Soldiers Assistant Fund. The fund was established by the family of Derek Hines—a Newburyport native—after he was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2005. The organization provides financial assistance for Massachusetts veterans and their families who have incurred serious, career ending, and life altering injuries while on active duty. Proceeds from this year’s race be donated to Home Base. The race will once again go through the beautiful town of Newburyport and will end at Cashman Park. The race will be followed up by a post-race party that will include food and drinks along with live entertainment from Dalton and the Sheriffs. Register here.
Big Game Battle

Nantucket Island – Nantucket Boat Basin
In its 17th Anniversary, Big Game Battle has chosen to support Home Base through their offshore sport fishing tournament. Fifty boats will fish East or South of the historic Island of Nantucket for a wide variety of game fish from Bluefin, Yellowfin, Albacore, Mahi Mahi, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Big Eye and more. They support the competition between the boats and crews, however, the most important goal is to have a fun weekend away with friends and go home with many memorable stories. The New Balance Falmouth Road Race

New this year: Home Base has been selected as a charity partner for the 2018 New Balance Falmouth Road Race and has been granted 15 charity bibs. Though the essence of the event remains a fun run, more than 11,000 runners will gather in Woods Hole for one of the most popular summer races on the South Shore , including many of the world’s elite. If you are interested in participating in this year’s race on behalf of Home Base, please contact Maureen Wade at firstname.lastname@example.org. There is a fundraising minimum requirement of $1,000.
First Responder No-Shave November
Each November, MBTA Transit Officer, Purple Heart recipient, and former Home Base patient Kurt Power leads a month-long journey to support Home Base and honor his fallen brothers through the annual No-Shave November campaign. Participants make a pledge to forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversation, raise awareness and break the stigma associated with post-traumatic stress (PTS) and other invisible wounds of war. All police, firefighters, corrections officers, EMTs, and paramedics are encouraged to participate. Click here to learn more.
